Final touches

It has been a long time since i have posted here. I was mainly active at the Yahoo groups. Still multiplexing my house build, the mcHF updates and work projects. This is why there seems to be no movement on the radio front. But i am still working on few things – the new 3D enclosure and the new revision of the UI PCB. More or less done with this, except some small cosmetic things (re-stitching the GND vias now causes some component names to be in need of moving).

After i submit the new test PCB and get it, i will still have to solder at least one and test for mistakes, etc. So, keep coming back for news..

      Hi Daniel,

This casing is not made by me, also those buttons looks like molded ABS, not 3D print. I think this was another ham, member of the Yahoo groups.

The old panel is 3D printed, the new casing i am working on would be CNC machined (just the front). 73

    Hi Chris,
My UI board already stuffed, the RF board going on …
Can you please confirm that the placement of the buttons, controls, display and LED on the new UI board are the same as on the previous v3 version board. I am looking for a cabinet (the version from BD1GO) and they are looking for confirmation before going to produce.
In the mean time: have a nice new years eve, and a prosperous 2015!

      Hi Eddy,

Great work on the build! As far as the new UI version goes – the only mechanical changes are the extra alu caps – they
will require modding of the shielding plate between the both boards. But boards and details already sent to the BD1GO team, so they can adjust. Nothing regarding the front panel controls has been changed.

      Hi,

I got the new boards, but need to solder one and test first, to make sure all is working ok. Week or two max.

Looking forward to being able to buy of build one of these. You should consider a fundraiser to perhaps hire some people to order parts and package kits. I think you have a real winner here.
