I’m looking at ordering the complete kit and see that I need to get the speaker and MOSFETs. I’m having a difficult time locating the part number for these MOSFETs. Checked with the Yahoo group and I’m not the only one.

I found the lists in the downloads page and it’s either what’s preinstalled or what comes in the packaging and not installed. (Unless I’m missing something)

    Hello Chris!

Yesterday I’ve ordered the two PCB’s (UI & RF, mcHF SDR- transceiver) from Germany. I paid by paypal already. Did you receive my order?
Please let me know when the package was shipped.
This SDR-Transceiver is a great interesting project, really!
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi there,

This looks like an incredible project. Amazing work. Properly amazing.

I’m toying with the idea of buying a complete kit, as a winter project, with a view to then using it /P or /M the following summer.

I recently got back into radio after almost a decade out. I am still quite dexterous with a soldering iron, and have some basic test gear; multimeter, LCR meter, and a Marconi 2955. But I am not an “expert constructor”; I’ve never done SMD stuff at all.

Do you think I could cope with the kit?

Also, I saw you’d mentioned that there would be a 0.6 revision at some point… If 0.6 is going to be a large upgrade should I wait?

Many thanks indeed and again, congrats on the whole thing.

      Hi Alex,

Thanks for your interest in the project! If you know electronics and can read schematics, you will not have a problem.
As for the v 0.6, it is still a ToDo: list on my bench. I guess it will take some time. If you really want to wait, you
can maybe get a feel for the project by getting UI blank board and populating with parts from Farnell.

    Hi Chris,

    On the RF’s BOM you have listed 6x 22nF (C68, C69, C84, C85, C86, C87)
with code FN 221-1120, but I think there is a mistake as what it comes up is different and I can’t see where to put it on the board. Also could you please specify the product code for J1, J2, J3?
Last question….coulod you point me in the rigth direction to where I can find the instruction to wind the 12 lowpass filters?

      Hi Matteo,

The four caps might have interfering order code with other Farnell parts, they should give you a choice to select (automotive grade, NPO, high voltage ceramic capacitors). The last time i have ordered them with the code from the BOM. For help with installing, please drop me a mail (djchrismarc at gmail).

Order codes for the audio sockets are in the BOM excel file. And the winding instructions for the LPFs are in the RF board schematics, next to each inductor.
